Hi, my name is Amad Mubeen. I am 21 years old. I was born in Karachi, Pakistan. And I still live in Karachi, Pakistan. I am currently studying Bachelors of Engineering in Mechatronics Engineering from PAF KIET.
♡ What caused SJ/TEN syndrome and how long ago was it?
I was due to the Sulfa group and Carbamazepine, when I was 19 years old at that time.
♡ Which symptoms did you have?
First, I was Suffered Viral Fever and got hospitalized at the beginning multiple red spots occurs on my body and then Doctors said that they are measles then doctors recommend me measles medicines, but that was not measles. The doctor described the red spots as measles, which was not. After two days I was facing from loose motion, Joints pain , fever and rashes all over body and then 90 % of my body badly damaged it seems like my skin become burn .My eyes and jaws become badly effected, I was not able to open my eyes and jaws, I was unconscious.
♡ How was your stay at the Hospital and how were you treated by the medical
staff?
I was in the hospital for 21 days and I had a wonderful stay at the hospital because The doctors were very supportive, and they always encouraged me. The Behavior of the Doctors and each and every staff with me was really good
♡ After leaving the Hospital, which side effects did you have and feel?
After leaving the hospital, I was feeling very weak, but I was glad I was alive
♡ How was your recovery process and were you followed by doctors afterwards?
My recovery process was starting quickly and pretty well and I was go to dermatologist after SJS/TENS to let my skin normal.
♡ Which was the best and worst part of this experience?
The worst part is that my skin is very sensitive and after suffering from SJS/TENS my skin get affected by sunlight till now. I avoid a lot of sunlight and the best part is that I feel pleasure when I kick the ass of SJS/TENS.
♡ How did this disease change your outlook on life?
My view of this disease is that it was just part of life that passed and I am glad I did the surviuve And I think anyone who has done the survive is the luckest person in the world.
♡ What are the tips you’d like to give to SJS/TEN patients?
All I want to say is that you are very lucky, you did the survive. Never think of yourself alone, we will always be with you. And always help others and It’s your responsibility to inform people about SJS/TENS.
♡ When you’re having a bad day, what do you do to cheer up?
I watch comedy shows, study and watch motivational stories and spend time with my friends and family.
♡ What makes you happy every day?
Talk to people, play games, watch comedy shows, talk to your loved ones, and spend time with them.
